What is the innocent foundation?
innocent drinks give a minimum of 10% of profits to charity, the majority of which goes to the innocent foundation. We were set up in 2004 and are a registered charity, Registered Charity No 1104289.
Why did innocent drinks set up the foundation?
innocent drinks set up the innocent foundation to offer some long-term support to the places where innocent sources its ingredients. Our money comes primarily from innocent drinks' profits, but we are an independent body who distribute money to the places and causes that best fit our vetting criteria. These revolve around the idea of nature and communities because we believe it is possible for the two to be united in a mutually beneficial and sustainable way.
What is the impact of the foundation?
We frequently look at how we can measure our impact; all of our partners report 6 monthly on progress against the agreed objectives. We are excited by some of the numbers, but know that it could be a number of years before we can really assess impact. Since 2004 we have invested £1.3 million in 37 projects, directly supporting over 350,000 people and helping our NGO partners to raise a further £5.8 million through leverage. That’s over 500,000 people supported with leverage.
How do you choose which projects to support?
All the projects are all carefully assessed by the foundation committee. Our projects are a mix of ones we’ve researched and identified and ones people tell us about directly. They are all then checked against our vetting critieria to ensure they fit our remit. Our criteria are regularly reviewed to ensure they are still relevant.
How can I see if my project or NGO might be eligible for funding?

How is funding allocated?
We completely reviewed our funding approach in 2009, and most of our funds are now allocated in three year partnerships.
What does the innocent foundation have to do with innocent the drinks company?
innocent the drinks company made funds available to set up a totally separate registered charity. Each year, the company donates 10% of its profits to charity, mainly to the foundation.
