The purpose of the innocent foundation is to help the world’s hungry. As of 2020, there were still 811 million hungry people in the world (FAO). This means 1 in 9 people go to bed on an empty stomach every night. We really want to change this. The good news is that, despite conflicts and a changing climate, hunger is one of the world’s most solvable problems. It has more than halved since 1990. Back then, 25% of the world’s population went hungry. But there’s still a long way to go, and we can’t do it alone.
A world without hunger is possible in our lifetime, and is our vision for the future. We’re not the only ones with big dreams. Zero hunger by 2030 is one of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, where the countries of the UN united in a call to action to ensure prosperity for people and the planet.
We find and fund extraordinary people and projects with the power to change the world. We think of it like panning for gold, seeking out the very best projects which test new and better ways of helping the world’s hungry.
