As of early 2020, we completed our three year long project with Ace Africa. We supported their project with the Haller Foundation to help hungry people in Kenya, create income streams and diversify diets.
In Siaya and Bungoma in Kenya, people live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $1.25 a day. Together with Ace Africa, we gave families the tools to feed themselves and their communities. By teaching people how to set up and maintain resources like fishponds, villagers have access to better food and more of it. Enough fish to make sure their families never go hungry, plus some extra profit. Ace Africa worked in partnership with the Haller Foundation. Ace learnt from Haller’s expertise in natural resource management, and shared their own expertise with the Haller team around Mombasa.
The project saw wins such as a 187% increase in income, and the training of 1,440 individuals in fish farming skills. Brilliant.
